For example, battery labels must have a crossed out wheeled bin, to prevent batteries and accumulators from being incinerated or dumped in landfills. The crossed out wheeled bin symbol must cover 3% of the largest surface of a non-cylindrical battery, or 1.5% of the surface of a cylindrical battery.

Part of the required information for battery labels is chemical symbols, which need to appear underneath the wheeled symbol.
